Sir: I got a solar system installed in my house a few months back to save energy for myself and for my country. I did save energy and my bill went down. Last month, one afternoon, a WAPDA meter reader declared that my meter was not working correctly and had gone slow. I did my best to convince him that my bill went down only due to the use of the solar system but he charged me with a ‘slow-moving’ meter and penalised me for the immediate replacement of the meter costing over Rs 4,000. Since there is no rule to defend a WAPDA consumer against its official whose word is final, I had to submit. Solar system users or its future users must keep this cruel WAPDA anti-solar system attitude in mind. Mohammad Abdul Ahad Multan
