Sir: It is a really positive step on the part of Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif to take notice of the incident in which one of the MPAs of his party slapped a doctor in a hospital in Faisalabad. The doctor, due to his hectic schedule, could not give protocol to the MPA; that was his crime. The question arises: why should he give special protocol to the MPA? It was really pitiful and saddening to watch on television the doctor’s prestige being trampled all over by the power-hungry feudal. Power really is overwhelming and also blinding. I am sure there are many such instances like this happening all over public offices in Punjab especially, but nothing is done about them because a majority go unreported. This incident also shows that the police are completely helpless and partial to powerful lobbies in the country as they refused to file a complaint against the incident. They must also be brought to book. NASIR-UD-DIN SOOMRO Hyderabad
