Sir: Ever since I heard Fazlur Rehman using filthy language to describe the ladies and women at the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf’s (PTI’s) dharna (sit-in) in Islamabad, I have been so infuriated that his words still haunt me. Although I am not a PTI supporter, I went to the dharna with my family including my mother, wife, sister and two kids as they wanted to see it with their own eyes. They sat in the women’s enclosure with the other ladies and spent about two hours there. As I was standing close by, all the other ladies were also visible. I saw them waving and chanting slogans but did not see even a single lady dancing. I want to tell Fazlur Rehman that my family are practicing Muslims and my wife has even offered Hajj. The words that he used I cannot even think of using with regard to describing any woman. I wonder how he can be called a Maulana by my countrymen. Pseudo-religious leaders like him have done more harm to our religion than the ones who do not practice at all. I pray that God saves us from such evil characters. WASEEM KHAN Rawalpindi
