Sir: Pakistan has been dealing with the problem of load shedding for years now. Many schemes are initiated to overcome this problem but nothing appreciable has happened yet. People are facing a lot of problems due to load shedding. Every now and then we see politicians making false promises to the people, saying that the problem of load shedding will soon be overcome. However, no improvement has been seen in the last five years. On the contrary, the problem is getting worse.Students are one of the many groups that are affected by this problem. Their studying schedule is disturbed due to the excessive hours of load shedding. They are not able to complete any given assignments. In summers it becomes even worse. It becomes hard for them to concentrate on their studies due to intense heat and not a single fan working in a room filled with students. Examination season is around the corner and this no electricity scenario is making it very hard for students to study. The question is what should be done to overcome this problem? As responsible citizens, we should also play our role in reducing this problem. SHUMAILA BINTE SAIFKarachi
