Sir: A young Christian couple was thrown in a brick kiln at Kot Radh Kishan for allegedly committing blasphemy. In reality, the brick kiln owner had a personal score to settle. They were burnt alive in broad daylight. What was their crime? I think, being poor in itself is a crime in our society. There is no justice for the poor. Who gave the right to the owner to punish them in such a brutal manner? The prime minister and chief minister have taken notice of this tragic incident but mere notice is not enough. We demand concrete steps be taken to ensure that justice is done to them. The culprits must be nabbed, prosecuted and given strict punishment in accordance with the law. JAVAID BASHIR Via Email
