Sir: It was sometime in 1998 when the DGMOs of Pakistan and India had their last meeting and now, after a gap of almost 15 years, the military higher-ups of the two neighbouring countries recently had a meeting at the Wahgah border. Most analysts from India and Pakistan are of the opinion that this meeting is the beginning of a new dawn of peace and friendship between the two countries and certainly will lead the two countries towards the realm of economic prosperity. It is a universally admitted fact that friendly relations among neighbouring countries promote peace and prosperity in the region — the benefit of the situation is for the common people.
