Sir: Our politicians, especially in Sindh, are aces at violating merit. They have been offering jobs to their own and the kin of the waderas (feudals) of Sindh. In return, they get favours in both cash and kind. On the other hand, the educated people keep running from pillar to post to get a government job, to no avail. Such political interventions in private, semi-private and government institutions have ruined the future of many youngsters. The PPP-led government in Sindh has taken favouritism to a new height. It has been awarding jobs in the Sindh government against bribes and favouritism. It is my request to the chief minister of Sindh to come forward to support the educated and deserving youth and to use merit, not nepotism, as the yardstick for employment. IMRAN KHOSODadu
