Sir: Amidst other problems inflicting Karachi, deteriorating roads takes the cake. Besides expansion, a majority of the roads need extensive repair. The companies responsible for constructing roads use substandard material to plunder millions of rupees. The accumulated sewerage or rainwater on roads further damages them. The residents of Karachi or for that matter of the entire country regularly pay automobile taxes, and therefore deserve better services. The sooner the concerned authorities realise the enormity of the problem and take action the better for the people at large. ZUNERA SIDDIQUIKarachi
