Persistent neglect

Sir: Jinnah Hospital Lahore was the last government hospital built during the last twenty years, with the help of rhe Chinese. Since then many civilian and military governments came and went without paying any attention to the problem of insufficient hospitals, while the number of patients has grown tremendously. Consequently, sometimes two poor patients have to lie on one bed. Recently the Pakistan Air Force bought several F-16 fighters jets. Probably, the cost of one of these jets could finance building a government hospital for destitute patients. This was the 'unkindest cut of all'.
