Sir: Recently, there has been a lot of hype concerning revolution around the world. Places like Egypt have been through such a process but will the same be good for Pakistan? The words revolution and evolution closely resemble each other and, in fact, are two models of change but are actually like two sides of a coin: totally different. Evolution implies a slow and gradual change while revolution means an instant change. From my perspective, keeping in view the current state of affairs in Pakistan, a revolution will only defer the problem, not actually solve it. This might result in change in the current status quo but, in the long run, we will relapse into our old ways. While an evolution might not seem very helpful in the short run, it will give great dividends in the future.I believe that evolution is the way to go because: “Revolution might change a man but an evolution will change generations to come.”JARRI RIZVIKarachi
