Sir: It is very unfortunate that Pakistani media houses are playing dirty games amongst themselves. After so many sacrifices, today they are pulling each other’s leg for temporary benefits and ranking. They are maligning themselves, which is very unfortunate, and symbolically they are proving to be unaccountable within themselves. The media in Pakistan is not newborn and they are also the largest public opinion makers, but in the dirty game of blame-games they are very far away from inculcating ideas like respect or debate with arguments that lead to solutions. Such acts by the media will only lead to bringing back the dark ages we had and that the media struggled against during dictatorships and even democracies with great sacrifices. Instead of violence and blame, one has to be accountable in front of the respectable institutions of the country to set codes of conduct and limitations for all channels and their morning shows.
