Sir: In the history of cricket in Pakistan, Hanif Mohammad was the first to play the longest innings in Test history — his 970 minutes 337 against West Indies in Bridgetown in 1957-58, followed a year later with the highest first class innings of 499 run out. These days this great legend of Pakistan is battling cancer. He has spent all of his earnings on his treatment. He is someone who earned a name for his country in the whole world, and many top test cricketers learnt a lot from his technique. Today he is facing a terrible time. It is time for us to give back to this great man. I appeal to Najam Sethi who has recently taken charge of the PCB to provide free treatment to our great cricketer. I am sure the chairman PCB will try his level best to help this great hero. Ali Asghar Peshawar
