Sir: Quaid’s Pakistan was dismembered by dictators and the illegitimate politicians created by them. Pakistan has been looted and plundered and made a debt-ridden state. While the state and its people are one of the poorest in the world, its rulers are among the richest people of the world. The wealth of the country has been siphoned off by them to foreign countries. The institutions of the country belong to its people and are not the property of any individual. Upheavals, coups and martial law would be a terrible blow to the already crippled country. We have witnessed the consequences of the deprivation faced by East Pakistan. Keeping this in mind, it is high time the flames of hatred, division, etc, were not stoked as is being done by many individuals. We should learn lessons from our history.
