Sir: The protests staged by the nationalist parties in Sindh against the arrival of IDPs is heart wrenching. They fear that militants disguised as IDPs could enter the province. The protestors may have a valid point, if only that was the issue. What actually troubles the nationalists is that the probable rise in the population of people from other ethnic backgrounds could turn the Sindhis into a minority. Let’s not forget that the IDPs have been suffering from terrorism for decades. They have lived with the monster day in and day out. In this testing time they deserve our attention and respect. If the governments had improved the law and order situation of their respective provinces, accommodating IDPs would not have been an issue at all. Sarah Mughal Via Email
