Sir: Keenjhar Lake is located in Thatta District of Sindh. It is 122 km away from Karachi city and 20 kilometres away from Thatta town. It is considered the second largest fresh water lake in Pakistan. The citizens of Karachi face a lot of problems related to water scarcity and the crisis is worsening day by day. Keenjhar Lake can be a good source of meeting the water needs of the citizens of Karachi. Unfortunately, due to the apathy of the concerned authorities, water is gradually getting polluted in the lake. Likewise, hundreds of people from different areas of Sindh come to this lake and make refresh themselves by swimming in it during hot weather. Due to mismanagement and increasing pollution, it can cause health hazards among citizens. The government should pay attention to this issue and take necessary measures for better utilisation of the fresh water from Keenjhar Lake. MAHJAN FAIZ Turbat
