Sir: Educational institutions are meant to inspire and motivate, enlighten and expand. They are the beacons of light for future generations but that is not the case in Pakistan where, increasingly, campuses have become ground zero for student bodies with sinister agendas. The Islami Jamiat-e-Tulaba (IJT) has been causing havoc in Punjab University for years and now we are hearing of more and more cases of IJT members ransacking school grounds and property to harass students. The latest case has been in Peshawar University where IJT members clashed with other students, namely those belonging to a Pakhtun student body, when they started bothering students who were celebrating Valentine’s Day. To this day, they are continuing their hooliganism with no end in sight. Where is the campus administration and what do they plan to do about these ruffians who are making it impossible to attain a decent education? These IJT members should be kicked out immediately.
