Sir: This Sunday was like witnessing a Pakistan Day celebrations. The day started off with a smashing win of Amir King Khan, who defeated an American boxer, Alexander. Then in the hockey Champions Trophy 2014, Pakistan made a devastating entrance to the finals by beating India in the semis. Though Pakistan didn’t win the cup, they brought home the silver medal and made the nation proud. Yes! They made us proud. I mean after the furious bombardments of criticism by the Indian media, hardcore pressure from the International Hockey Federation as well as two major players being suspended just eight hours before the game. Under all this stress and pressure, the Pakistani team made an amazing effort, whereas I am much disappointed with the Indian crowd. The day ended with a wonderful victory by the Pakistan cricket team against New Zealand. Their brilliant batting and tremendous fielding and bowling made New Zealand seem like minnows. This is the true spirit of Pakistan and the Pakistani people. Whether our teams win or lose, we are always there to love them, support them, appreciate them and value them! Saroj Rizwan Khan Karachi
