Sir: Brain Drain of flight of human capital continues to adversely impact Pakistan as many of its highly trained, intelligent and skilled personnel are still interested in venturing for more affluent societies. The highly skilled people leaving behind their homeland for personal gains have set forth quite a shambolic state of affairs in the country. While the international community often criticises us for our low literacy levels, the government has yet not paid attention to the talented youth leaving Pakistan in fleets. We should ascertain what circumstances force them to leave for other countries. A critical dearth of job opportunities, ridiculously low salaries and dismal provision of other services are some of the factors that should be acted against before the menace harms Pakistan any further. According to the ministry of overseas Pakistanis, seven million Pakistanis were found to be residing in more 140 different countries last year. We should strive to bring these people back to Pakistan so that they can help the country and its economy prosper. RAMEEZ ALI MAHESAR Darbello
