Sir: The commitment, faith and belief with which 15-year-old Aitzaz Hassan laid down his life for a noble cause reminds me of the story of that young boy who came out with other members of his town to pray for rain against a threatened famine. However, out of the whole lot, only that young boy was holding an umbrella since he was confident and had the staunch belief that it would rain after the prayer. Against the aggression of Saddam Hussein in Iraq, thousands of Iranian teenagers stood firm against a well-trained and well-equipped Iraq army and saved the country by sacrificing their lives for a superior cause. It is very common to see young boys guarding mosques, imambargahs, shrines and other religious institutions along with the security agencies. No doubt, ours is a fearless young generation, which is following the martyrdom of Aitzaz Hassan. It will not hesitate to challenge any act of terrorism. The need of the hour is for government to also show strength and courage to deal with the terrorists with an iron hand. S TAJAMMAL H RIZVI Lahore4
