Sir: We have a huge variety of restaurants, cafes, hotels and other food points. Most of them just focus on their presentation to grab impressionable customers. At the same time, these restaurants are not cheap; a person from even a middleclass family thinks twice before visiting these places. Still these restaurants do not take care of cleanliness, in their kitchens especially. The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) has become very active in fining them. A number of popular food chains have recently been fined by the PFA. Through your esteemed newspaper, I would suggest that the PFA give such places a single warning and if they do not improve their standards then it should cancel their licences and seal their restaurants forever. These places earn too much money and a few thousand rupees fine is not of much concern for them. Stricter action needs to be taken.SHEIKH ALI MURRADLahore
