Sir: I live at Iqbal Residency, SB-5, Sector Z-6, Gulshan-e-Maymar, Karachi. The building is sold on ownership to six different occupants. Recently we have come to know that the builder of Iqbal Residency, Zafar Iqbal, is planning to sell the space reserved for the parking of motorcycles and cycles. As per Karachi Building Authority Regulation-2002, rule No.24-2.5, 16 percent of the general parking areas could be used for parking motorcycles and cycles, which means for every one car, six motorcycles and eight cycles could be parked. The above parking area is within the boundary of our building and by law the entire area belongs to the owners of the Iqbal Residency. We have also been informed by the Sindh Building Control Authority, Karachi, that the penthouse on the roof of our building had been illegally built by Zafar Iqbal. We have authorised its demolition. This letter should be considered a warning to all those who might be thinking to buy the said parking area. We are about to file a petition against Zafar Iqbal in the Sindh High Court. And anyone involved in the sale or purchase of any land falling within the jurisdiction of Iqbal Residency would be held as an offender. Tamoor Sulaiman Kazi Karachi
