Sir: It has been established that journalism is an extremely unsafe and risky profession as many journalists were targeted, kidnapped, killed by different groups worldwide. According to a report, 28 journalists were killed and targeted by Islamic militant groups, like al-Qaeda or Islamic State (IS). However, 110 journalists were killed during 2015 around the world. India is declared as the third dangerous country, after Iraq and Syria, for journalists. In addition, in Pakistan, 28 journalists were killed in the same year. As many as six journalists were killed in Karachi, five in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and four in Balochistan. The year 2015 was really worst for journalists who risked their lives in order to provide us facts and figures on the happenings around the country. Thus, it is the job of the UN to take action against the killing of journalists and provide them security. LIQUAT SALEH Kech
