Sir: As the world patiently awaits the citizens of Scotland to vote in the Scottish referendum, we hit the headlines of all the major news channels about the devastating floods that have inundated parts of Punjab and claimed many lives. We were yet to recover from the challenging predicament of the IDPs, the postponement of the Chinese president’s trip to Pakistan, that we are confronted with the worst form of flooding in Pakistan. The government should stop wasting valuable time and energy on these protests and focus on providing humanitarian support for the victims of the flood. Severe flood warnings still exist in the region and people need to be evacuated and taken to safe places. Barrister Mobeen ShahVia Email
