Sir: Fata, home to six million human souls, has been bleeding for the last decade. This is the result of cumulative sins perpetrated by those in power. A larger bench of the Peshawar High Court hearing constitutional petitions regarding its jurisdiction to hear cases from the tribal areas, said in its ruling that it has no authority to entertain cases from Fata. Here I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the larger bench of the Peshawar High Court for identifying the obstacles in legal laws applicable to Fata and its recommendations to parliament for amendment in the constitution, for extending legal provision of justice to the people of Fata. It is time the cries of the people of the tribal areas were heard. The Pakistani academia, media and stakeholders must now refrain from using a century-old British colonial narrative.
