Sir: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has launched a loan scheme for youth from 21 to 41 years old, of Rs 1 million to Rs 20 million, with eight per cent interest. Although it is a good step and will provide loans to a million youngsters, the total population of young people is about 18 million. The government decided to give Rs 100 billion for these loans. If this money is invested in producing electricity, the people will have more advantage. If there is daily load shedding for about 18 hours, how can our youngsters run their businesses? The scheme doesn’t look feasible to me. I wish those youngsters all the best who get the loan at eight percent interest, without having any electricity and gas to run their businesses.
