Sir: It is reported that the ministry of railways has recovered more than $ 10 million paid in advance to a Chinese black listed company to buy railway engines. Government’s wise and timely decision has saved the country, already starved of capital, from a huge loss. The government has taken an unprecedented step for which it should be appreciated as nobody previously has shown such resolve to recover public money. Pakistan Railways still need 300 additional engines. One hopes that all future transactions will be made keeping the national interest in mind. Afia Malik Lahore
