Sir: It is in the knowledge of every consumer that bank charges are included in every bill. The charges are paid by the utility company for using the services of the bank. In case a customer fails to pay the bill before due date, total charges, including the bank charges, are carried forward to next month. When a subscriber pays the bill the following month, he actually pays bank charges twice. This is against consumers’ rights. In short the utility companies are taking money by unfair means, which directly go to the company’s funds. All the utility companies are requested to make amendments in the billing system to benefit the consumers. Waqas Abdul Qayyum Karachi
