Sir: Reports tell of how the once booming silk industry in Swat is now dead due to the Taliban militancy that wracked havoc in the province some five years ago. Many thousands of people have been left jobless because of the terrorism onslaught that took place there, leaving them hand-to-mouth. We are used to seeing the victims of terrorism as the victims of bomb blasts and brutal slaughter but we tend to forget about the economic terrorism that accompanies militancy. The government must do something about this and help provide employment to those who were once part of Swat’s silk industry. ARIF GHANI Lahore
