Sir: I am a proud father of Captain Muhammad Bilal Sunawar, who embraced Shahadat (martyrdom) on November 20, 2009 at Pushziarat, South Waziristan while vigorously fighting against foreign terrorists and showed unprecedented valour, bravery and courage, thus setting an unmatched standard for the rest to follow. He was awarded with Tamgha-i-Basalat by the government of Pakistan for offering extreme meritorious service for the defence of the motherland. My beloved martyred son had a unique distinction of commanding three services parade at the inaugural ceremony of Pakistan National Monument, Shakarparian, Islamabad, in 2007 and he conducted various guards of honour to foreign dignitaries, which could be verified from the Inter-Services Public Relations. He was the first officer from District Jhelum who embraced Shahadat during the military operation Rah-e-Nijaat launched by the government against terrorists in South Waziristan. As a token of respect to my son, Chief Minister (CM) Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif made a firm commitment with Senator Raja Zafarul Haq that the newly constructed road from Pind Dadan Khan to Khutta Sangral will be named after Capt (Shaheed) Muhammad Bilal Sunawar. This was especially conveyed to me on the phone that the CM Punjab has given instructions to the Public Works Department to name this road as Capt (Shaheed) Muhammad Bilal Road. It has been four years that the road project has been completed but the CM Punjab has not fulfilled his commitment despite my dozens of reminders. This commitment is cost free, as the CM Punjab will not have to pay a single penny. The only required thing is the change of name on the existing boards. This road should be named as Capt (Shaheed) Muhammad Bilal Sunawar as promised. This is not an undue favour (as we cannot even find those exalted words in any dictionary of this world to pay tribute which should match their stature) but a token of respect to my Shaheed son who sacrificed his precious life for the defence of this country.
