Sir: It was really heartrending to witness the gruesome gunfire and bomb attack on court premises in Islamabad’s heavily secure F-8 area. Since negotiations began, the country has seen the ruthless and brutal killings of innocent people. Anyone among us could be next on the list of these terrorists. If our judges are not secure then who else can we turn to? The ghastly incident caused the deaths of at least 11 people, including an additional sessions judge and a young lawyer, Fiza. My heart goes out to the family of the smiling young lady — all her dreams perished with one bullet. This leaves no space for negotiations if the perpetrators of this heinous crime are the Taliban who are sitting with the government at negotiating tables. The government has to defend innocent citizens without any compromise. Those who kill innocents do not come under the umbrella of Islam. NASIR-UD-DIN SOOMRO Hyderabad
