Sir: A few days ago, I was passing through the streets of Karachi when I saw a cluster of people who were carrying cell phones and recording something. From a distance, I thought that they might have seen a celebrity and that is why they are taking pictures with him. But when I got closer, I saw two young boys lying in a pool of blood on the road. It was an accident and people were making videos to gather some sort of evidence. Nobody was bothering to help these boys in fear that police will take him to court for being an eyewitness of the accident. I was surprised by this callous attitude of the people and their lack of humanity. We have become so devoid of mercy that we cannot even help our brothers in need just because we do not want to face any hardship. ALIZA SABIR Karachi
