Sir: The film world is a fantasy world. We begin to follow the characters consciously or unconsciously, whether they are heroes or villains. Heroes are imitated more by the younger generation. By the end of the film, the viewers look up to someone who kills all the negativity and provides a happy ending. However, recent trends show that the previously perfect hero is now influencing the viewers in a negative manner. The modern heroes are promoting negativity in teenagers who are influenced by the famous icons. Films now show drug use and violence. The heroes turn to evil to fulfil their desires in these films and dramas. The most popular drama series of 2012 was Humsafar and in that, famous icon Fawad Khan was shown smoking continuously. People get so influenced that the majority of youngsters copied his style. He is a style icon and people look up to him. Some heroes are vicious and foul mouthed. For the sake of entertainment we are corrupting our nation and losing our values, showing heroes who are sick, depraved and corrupt. ANUM ABUBAKAR Lahore
