Sir: My name is Rizwana Muhammad Rafique holding CNIC No.42000-8107507-8. I am a Pakistani national born in India (Pune-Maharashtra State) and acquired Pakistani nationality in 1992 after marrying Pakistani citizen Muhammad Rafique holding CNIC No. 42201-5418603-9. I visited Nadra office, Shahra-e-Quaideen office Karachi on 23rd November 2015 to apply for a Smart Card. I have five Pakistani passports issued to me since 1992 after a lapse of every five years. I surrendered my previous card to Nadra officials to apply for a smart card. I was asked to contact Zonal AD at Awami Markaz, Karachi for verification of my nationality. The Nadra office at Awami Markaz gave me a form to fill and submit all relevant documents including copies of my nationality certificate, CNICs of husband, mother-in-law, father-in-law and my two sons. All documents were submitted to Nadra office on 14th December 2015 and I was asked to contact after one month. I have been visiting Nadra office since then only to face misbehaviour of the guard standing at the entrance of Nadra office who does not allow anyone to even enter the office premises to find out the status of their pending cases. I visited Nadra head office in Karachi and was told that my case has been sent to Ministry of Interior for verification of my Pakistani nationality certificate. I have sent email to Ministry of Interior and Nadra office Islamabad as well but got no response. It appears that my only crime is that I decided to apply for a smart card despite holding Computerized National Identity Card having expiry date of 2022. I therefore request you to please help me in getting my nationality verification done immediately and direct the authorities at Nadra office Awami Markaz, Karachi to give clearance for issuance of my smart card.
