Sir: You will be proud to know that I have brought Rs 100 billion to Pakistan without any assistance from the government, the Director General (DG) Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) said while welcoming us to the FWO. The Fatima Jinnah Women’s University (FJWU) students’ visit to FWO was highly inspirational. With the DG sitting in front of us, it was clear how an individual can change the fate of a country. That’s what we have been told from grade two: each and every individual is important in nation building. It moved us to the core of our heart. A meeting with the engineers at a project site near the Panead River in the scorching heat took us off guard that even such weather does not affect the morale of such workers. Can making roads be motivational for a group of people? I never thought of this before. The only thing that does affect them is if someone is martyred due to the volatile environment where roads and dams are being built. The engineer-in-charge of the Lahore-Islamabad Motorway project took us to the site where high-tech machinery was being used, but more than that their dedication and patriotism were visible. Keep on working men of the FWO, sons of the soil; only you know well the strategic importance of your job. Hats off to the FWO!MAHRUKH SARFRAZRawalpindi
