Sir: A big well done to Nawaz Sharif’s PML-N government. Instead of fulfilling its promise to end load shedding in Pakistan, it has, instead, resorted to the forceful closure of businesses and entertainment after 9:00 pm. While our rivers run full, the world’s oil prices are low, LNG supply is available, solar, wind and other new sources of power generation are online, we in Pakistan have to sustain reduced hours for business and entertainment while millions of Pakistanis will have to endure reduced income from their businesses.Such a drastic decision at this stage makes no logical sense or even any economic sense. Is it just another ploy to extort money from businesses either in the form of leniency in the current policy or in the sale of generators and fuel?SHAHRYAR KHAN BASEERPeshawar
