Sir: It is going to be quite interesting after Pakistan postponed a series against Zimbabwe and the West Indies. They were about to play the series but when Pakistan clinched the series against Sri Lanka, they thought that now they have qualified for the Champions Trophy (CT) and there was no need to endanger their qualification. If West Indies will not play any match till September 30, they will definitely not qualify for the CT. Pakistan has not shown sportsman’s spirit by cancelling the trilateral series. Now West Indies have got a chance to qualify for the CT by virtue of India, who has already qualified and does not want Pakistan to play in the big event. So, India has agreed to play against the West Indies. If West Indies can do it by clinching the series against India, Pakistan team will be in danger. Instead of Pakistan, West Indies will qualify by getting the 8th rank in the ODI. That’s what West Indies need before September 30. Therefore, Pakistan’s qualification to feature in the mega event is still in danger. SANAULLAH SAMADTurbat
