Sir: All over the world, developed nations own their children; they support them by providing good, free education, healthy food, recreational activities and proper care with maintenance facilities so that those children may form good personalities. According to the pioneer of the Psychodynamic approach, Sigmund Freud, “Individual past experiences contribute to one’s personality, but the early childhood experience had most profound impact on personality formation.” According to Article 37 of the Constitution, “The state shall promote social justice and shall eradicate social evils” but we have failed in implementing this provision of the Constitution due to the failed policies of government authorities. These state authorities are indirectly enhancing social problems instead of eradicating them. In short, we must love children, support them in the best possible manner as they are the beautiful colours of nature. We must not waste their sweetness and innocent cuteness by pushing them in the dark trenches of child labour, juvenile delinquency and sexual harassment. SARWAT GHOURI Karachi
