Sir: Day after day acts of violence are increasing and the most common way of protesting these acts of violence is burning of transport buses due to frustration and anger at local issues. Target killings and local issues have increased to such an extent that the people during protests start burning public as well as government property such as transport buses, rickshaws and cars. Due to the fear of further damage the buses do not facilitate the public and go on strike, or people themselves due to fear cut off social activity. In some cases of severely violent conditions, people may not go to office and students might not attend classes. In some cases the roads are blocked so that the security authorities can control the agitation among the people who are causing trouble. This causes people to face trouble in travelling. I would like to enlighten the authorities that such acts should be controlled either by increasing the deployment of security forces or by good surveillance. AMNA BIBIKarachi
