Sir: Education is a basic instrument that polishes the human personality and unearths dormant faculties of the human mind, giving birth to active and responsible citizens and helping us understand the meaning of life and the wisdom of books. It is the only tool that produces a sense of community and public spirit, thus making people civilised. It is very unfortunate that the education system of Pakistan is shrouded by multiple factors that hamper its growth in the right direction. Among many other factors, the copying and cheating culture is the most dangerous of all, which has destroyed the very core of our education system. The government is not playing any effective role in this regard. Maintaining a literacy rate of 58 percent is good but the system is flawed and people take advantage of it. Visiting social and electronic media sites will easily help you find a lot of videos showing that not only are students responsible for cheating but teachers too are involved in such activities and the government is not paying any heed to this very essential issue. The government should take necessary steps at every stage to produce quality education and reliable degrees. RAVI SHANKER THAWANIHyderabad
