Sir: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) wants to change its domestic structure. It wants to finish the department teams and wants regional teams to be sponsored.
The PCB should change the regional association election system in which two groups are in contestation for the post of president, secretary and treasurer. The same people will run the association for decades. Different clubs will give their vote to them, but there are always voices raised that there are many bogus clubs.
The PCB should change the voting system. Instead of clubs voting for a team, it should be the players who should do so as they have played for Pakistan in test matches, one-day internationals, T-20s, etc. Only those players can vote who have retired from cricket. For example, a player who has played cricket for Karachi could give his vote to the Karachi Cricket Association.
The same rule should apply to other games also.
One who is elected to the posts of president, secretary and treasurer would not be able to participate the next time so that new people could be elected.
