Sir: Justice Fasih-ul-Mulk has been sworn in as the Chief Justice of Peshawar High Court (PHC). The people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) look forward to getting legal relief from his court on problems that have become difficult for the KP government to solve. Some of these issues include the revision of deputation policy for public servants, the establishment of a regulatory body to regulate the affairs of the private educational institutions, and the removal of illegal encroachers from public lands. These issues are already in the notice of the PHC. The provincial government on its part is making efforts for reform but the pace is unacceptably slow. Although it is a pity that the country looks up to the higher judiciary for solving problems, but we are left with no other recourse. Mohammad Fayyaz Charsadda
