Sir: I want to inform the relevant authorities about the rising population of stray dogs in the residential and commercial areas of University Town, Peshawar. Because the roads in the area are mostly broken, these dogs, more often than not, become victims of veering cars avoiding the potholes. A large number of these stray dogs have broken limbs and move about the roads in great pain. Therefore I request the relevant authorities to please clear the University Town of the stray dogs and fix the roads to avoid further accidents. I also hope that the authorities do not come up with the usual excuse of having no funds for repairing roads because now they are collecting taxes from over 50 percent of the houses converted into commercial businesses. And not to forget the rent they receive from the high-rented public property leased to private parties. Salma BaseerPeshawar
