Sir: Garbage dumps around the city are a nuisance. Garbage collected by sweepers in residential areas is simply dumped on the roundabouts, U-turns or in the portions between the roads, which are meant for plantation.
Across the world, open dumping is illegal, but in our country, especially in Karachi, it is a common practice. Although some trash houses are built for the purpose, they are either overloaded or not used.
After monsoon showers, this garbage will become a potential source of disease and pollution. I request the municipal authorities of Karachi to clear these garbage dumps before the monsoon rains.
