Sir: There are some facts of human history which cannot be denied. It is a historical fact that stronger nations which practice wretched tactics of diplomacy, often eat up the weaker ones. This has been true since the Stone Age to the current atomic age. Nations have struggled to maintain peace, make progress and be prosperous but unfortunately in many instances they have done so by snatching the resources and rights of the weaker nations. Diplomacy sometimes lacks organisational abilities and righteousness, and the loss is suffered by the weaker nations. Diplomatic treaties, flawed policies and false promises of developed nations towards developing countries have eradicated the hope for rebuilding relations. This holds true for Pakistan. Every corner of our country is bleeding at the hands of the Taliban whose twisted ideology and heinous acts are engulfing the country. There are bloodbaths every day. Pakistan has so far lost more than 40,000 civilians and army personnel, spent 80 billion dollars in a foreign war on terror. If we spread the diplomatic mat for the Taliban to sit on and negotiate it is useless for us. We must crack down and bury them in their grounds from where they spread oppression. Sometimes deceitful diplomacy leaves us in limbo; we must adopt the negotiating approach and diplomatic tactics but not at the risk of safety of our sovereignty for it must be safeguarded by us.
