EPA inspects 29 sites; seals three under anti-dengue drive

RAWALPINDI: The Environment Protection Agency (EPA), under its ongoing anti-dengue drive on Saturday sealed three places and inspected 29. EPA District Officer Mian Mohammad Nawaz said that the EPA team inspected 11 tyre shops, 17 junkyards, and a nursery. He said that strict action was being taken against the violators of the orders of the government to save the public from the spread of the dengue mosquitoes. The EPA teams also removed stagnant water from three sites while the team found no dengue larva from any other site, he informed. Nawaz further said that tyre shops, hotels, restaurants, nurseries, under construction sites, and other vulnerable points are regularly being checked and special inspection is conducted to check the dengue mosquito larva. 26 sites were declared clear of the dengue larva, he informed. The EPA would continue to conduct such raids until the dengue mosquito is eliminated, he added.
