ISLAMABAD: Through a written reply, Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Dr Tahirul Qadri on Saturday assured the Supreme Court that one side of Constitution Avenue would be cleared soon.
At the same time, he has expressed his confidence in the army chief, the written statement said.
On Saturday, PAT counsel Ali Zafar, submitted a report in compliance of court orders during last hearing of the identical petitions filed by the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) and other bar councils, requesting for restraining order against any extra-constitutional step taken by any institution and authority.
The PAT report welcomed the army chief’s intervention to resolve the ongoing political standoff in the country and expressed its resolve to stand with democracy.
The report said that three out of four lanes of Constitution Avenue would be kept clear from the PAT protesters and marchers for smooth traffic flow of the traffic for commuters.
A larger bench of the court headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Nasirul Mulk is hearing the case. The case will be heard on Monday.
