AIOU sets up sale points for admission forms

ISLAMABAD: The Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has set up points for the sale of admission forms at its main campus in the capital, regional campuses, and coordinating offices across the country, in order to facilitate the students at their door-steps.The admission forms of matric to master level programmes can be submitted along with the prescribed fee in the nationwide branches of Bank Al-Falah, Habib Bank Ltd, First Women Bank and Allied Bank and at the nominated branches of National Bank of Pakistan and Muslim Commercial Bank, said a press release. The detail of the designated branches is available in the prospectuses as well as in the regional offices. The last date for the submission of the admission form is September 5. According to Admissions director, PhD, MS/MPhil, MSc, MBA, and LLM/MS Shari’ah have been offered on merit basis and all those interested for the admissions in these programmes should send their admission forms directly to their departments concerned without the admission fee according to the procedures laid down in the prospectus. There would be no requirement of the GAT test for admission in PhD and MS/MPhil programmes, however the entry tests would be conducted by the department concerned, he added.According to him, the admission forms for the students who are already a part of the university have already been dispatched, however, if somehow any of the students do not receive the admission form, he/she can download the same from the AIOU’s website and deposit in any designated bank branch with fee till due date to avoid the late fee charges. The admissions of PhD is being offered in Islamic Studies, Islamic Studies (Quran and Tafseer), chemistry, Iqbal studies, Pakistani languages and literature, Shari’ah, Urdu and mass commission, while the admissions of MS/MPhil are being offered in Islamic studies, Quran and Tafseer, Arabic, LLM Shari’ah, chemistry, community health and nutrition, Iqbal studies and mass communication. MSc is being offered in economics, Pakistan studies, statistics, and gender and women studies.
