Three arrested for writing anti-judge posters

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad police on Wednesday arrested three painters from Rawalpindi for allegedly writing the banners against a judge of the Supreme Court displayed in the Red Zone of the capital.A two-member bench of the SC presided by Justice Jawad S Khawaja took up the case for hearing last Monday and ordered that reply be filed by interior secretary and Intelligence Bureau within 24 hours regarding display of banners against a SC judge.Aabpara police arrested three painters Shafiq Butt, Nasir and Waqar Ahmed allegedly involved in writing the banners against the apex court judge. The police registered case under section 504,505 PPC.Meanwhile, unidentified thieves sneaked into a house in F-7/3 and looted away an LCD and 2 laptops worth Rs 125,000. An FIR has been lodged with Kohsar police station. Unidentified thieves stole away a motorcycle numbered MNR-3648 from the parking lot of the Faisal Mosque. An FIR has been lodged with Sadar Zone police station.Thieves creeped into a house in G-11/3 and looted away mobile phone, laptop, digital camera and clothes. An FIR has been lodged with Golra police station.At least 16 suspects were arrested while 11 motorcycles were taken into custody as search operations in the jurisdictions of Sihala and Ramna police stations.The search operation was conducted in the surrounding kachi abadis and the Afghan bastis. Another six suspects were taken into custody from Murad Town, Mohrra Kalu, Dhok Qureshia and Dhok Awan. Ten suspects were arrested during raids in G-11/3 and Mera Abadi. At least 10 suspected beggars were also arrested.
