The first day of the auction process was attended by a large number of people who enthusiastically participated in the auction process to get their favourite plots.Chairman CDA, Maroof Afzal while expressing his pleasure over transparent and successful auction of residential plots on the first day of the auction process said that the income from the auction of residential plots will be spent on development of various sectors of Islamabad. He further added that the vacant and un-soled plots in different developed sectors were being used as lawns and green areas illegally by different people by encroaching CDA land. This trend was causing loss worth billions of rupees to the Authority. The present CDA administration has taken serious note of the illegal use of the vacant CDA plots and got these vacated from the encroachers. All such plots therefore, have been offered for auction in the current auction process, he added. This step will result in healthy income for the Authority as well as a deterrence against encroachers. Particular attention has been paid to the preservation of green areas in the residential sectors to maintain the balance between residential and green areas, the Chairman added.Chairman CDA, Maroof Afzal further said that the successful auction of a large number of plots at much higher prices on the first day of the auction process is the expression of trust by the citizens in Capital Development Authority. CDA will use all available resources for development of sectors and provision of civic amenities to the residents.
