Inflated IESCO electricity bills worry citizens

ISLAMABAD: The citizens of the twin cities have expressed concerns over the inflated electricity bills with extra units without reading. A resident said that there was no air conditioner in his residence but despite this, the IESCO had sent him a bill of RS 38,000 while the units mentioned in bill were 1982.He complained that when he went for the correction of the bill in the WAPDA office, the staff asked him to pay the bill this time and said that the bill would be corrected next time. The citizens are protesting that the IESCO has sent them bills of thousand of rupees while when they visit the WAPDA office no one is entertaining them for the correction and ask them to pay the same bill this time. Beside this, the All Traders Welfare Association president said that there is no business in the Blue Area from the last 2.5 months due to the metro bus project but the electricity bills they have received are out of their reach and the traders are worried about the payment of those bills.
